Bald Eagle Nesting Preserve
While boating on Lake Joseph, you may see the bald eagles feed by swooping down and snatching fish from the water with its talons. The bald eagle is the national bird of the United States, and in the late 20th century it was on the brink of extinction. Populations have since recovered, the bird was removed from the list of endangered species and is now on the list of threatened species.

Fishing & Boating
Bring your gear for fishing at Lake Joseph! We have four rowboats on the lake for your use. Our waters are predominantly populated by bass but you'll also catch perch, crappies, sunfish, and pickerel. Please note that it is only catch and release with artificial lures, and a NY State fishing license is required. There are plenty of places to fish nearby as well - we'll be happy to point you in the right direction! While boating on Lake Joseph, you may experience watching the bald eagles feed by swooping down and snatching fish from the water with its talons.
