There’s so much to do here in upstate New York, you may not have enough time to get to everything you want to do. To make your decisions a little easier, we selected a few things in the area that we highly recommend for visitors, starting with food and drink!
There are several excellent restaurants located close by the Inn that would be more than happy to accommodate larger groups. Make sure to book in advance and prepare to have your taste buds dazzled by worlds of complex flavors! The incredible Ciao Bella is a northern-Italian restaurant only 4.2 miles from the Inn and is perfect for a fancy evening dinner! Or, if perhaps you’re feeling more casual, the Dancing Cat Saloon and Distillery is an amazing choice, with its nightlife, delicious food, alcohol, dancing, and live music! It’s certainly not a destination to be missed if the group is in the mood for a night on the town.
For a more relaxed afternoon out and about, the region boasts some excellent wineries, many of which have tastings available and open to the public. The Shawangunk Wine Trail offers a full day’s experience with over 15 distinct wineries to visit along its winding trail with transportation to and from the various wineries provided by the trail. For larger groups renting a limousine is a great way to taste lots of wine and travel the trail safe and in style with the gals.

There’s nothing quite like a good shopping trip and thankfully, the area has got you and your group covered with a good selection of places to shop-till-you-drop! Various antique stores dot the area and sell a wide variety of goods and classic pieces. Places like Domesticities & The Cutting Garden sell vintage gardening supplies and home decor while the appropriately named Laughing Ladies sell high-quality antique silverware, furnishings, and crystal. Or, if you’re feeling in the mood for some fresh fruits and veggies, the area is home to several excellent farmer’s markets like the Callicoon and Root’ N Roost Farm.
In addition, there are tons of other great things to do all listed on our website with sections on hiking, kayaking, local theatres, golfing and other local sports, wildlife, and even hot-air-balloon trips!
