The 2017 summer season at Forestburgh Playhouse

May 24th 2017

We know you could spend most of your summer vacation lounging on the grounds or enjoying the nearby hiking and biking trails, but if you’re in the mood for a fun date night on your Upstate New York getaway or want to take in a show then you’ll want to check out the exciting lineup of theater performances in the Forestburgh Playhouse’s 2017 season!

The season has seven major shows and an additional show just for the kids. Starting June 13 through September 3, you can catch the following performances:

  • Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, June 13 – 18
  • Funny Girl, June 20 – July 2
  • Disney’s The Little Mermaid, July 4 – 16
  • Disney’s Newsies, July 18 – 30
  • Bye, Bye, Birdie, August 1 – 13
  • Crazy For You, August 15 – 27
  • The Graduate, August 20 – September 3

Evening performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 8 p.m. or you can opt for a matinee at 2 p.m. on Wednesdays or 3 p.m. on Sundays. Watching a show at the Forestburgh Playhouse has been a Catskills summer tradition since its premiere production of “Blithe Spirit” on July 8, 1947!

You can start purchasing individual tickets online when the box office opens on Saturday, May 20 or by visiting the theater. If you wish to buy season tickets or gift certificates, you can buy those anytime by calling 845-794-1194.

If you want to keep up the live entertainment theme, you might want to check out the 2017 summer season at the Forestburgh Tavern! The Tavern is an excellent spot to grab a bite to eat and sip local spirits and puts on quite the show with its cabaret performances.

After the show, be sure to return to a quiet and accommodating room at Inn at Lake Joseph where you can talk about your favorite parts of the show before getting a good night’s rest.
