You might find it hard to leave our resort-style inn with so many amenities and on-site activities, but if you find yourself wanting to explore outside the grounds of the Inn at Lake Joseph and do a little shopping, we’ve got some recommendations!

Whether you want to enjoy a sunny drive in the country as you search local antique shops for treasures or souvenirs or pick up some fresh produce for snacks for hiking or making your own picnic back at the inn; there’s no shortage of shops and markets to explore.


Antique Palace Emporium

The emporium specializes in vintage furniture, from dining to bedroom sets, and also houses jewelry, lamps, and more. The store is open Monday – Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Country Bum’kin

Spanning a variety of periods, this shop is home to Early American, Victorian, and Woodstock pieces among many others. You’ll be able to shop for furniture, memorabilia, jewelry, artwork, pottery, and more. The shop will also purchase antiques if you have items for sale. Domesticities & The Cutting Garden

Find an eclectic assortment of antiques and vintage items for your home or garden. During the summer, the garden is open for your enjoyment and you can create a bouquet of flowers or pick fresh vegetables.

Ferndale Antiques Marketplace

Open Memorial Day through Labor Day, Ferndale Antiques has quite a collection of boutique pieces and home décor. The shop is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and sells select items online.

Laughing Ladies

This shop has unique finds from art to silver. Find kitchenware, crystal, furniture, jewelry, and more spread out across eight rooms. The Laughing Ladies is open year-round but hours from Memorial Day through Labor Day are: Monday, noon to 5 p.m., Tuesday – Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. After Labor Day, the shop is closed Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Lee Hartwell Antiques

For jewelry, artwork, and home accessories from the Arts & Crafts era, Art Deco era, or Mid-Century Modern, this is the shop for you. They also carry pieces from local Catskills estates and American Folk Art. The store is open Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment.

Town and Country Antiques

Find unique home decorations, furniture, art, and more at Town and Country in Liberty, NY. Town and Country Antiques is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from July through August and open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. September through June. In both seasons they close at 3:45 p.m. on Saturdays.

Callicoon Farmers’ Market

Sundays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

More than 25 vendors bring their best, fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, baked goods, cheeses, wine, and more to the market. In November, the market moves indoors for the winter season.

Florida Farmers’ Market

Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Located in the village of Florida, NY, this farmers’ market is open from mid-June to October on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Harvest Festival at Bethel Woods

Sundays, August 28 – September 25, 2016

Welcome the fall and harvest at Bethel Woods with this fun, free community event that has a farmers’ market, live music, and activities!

Middletown Farmers’ Market

Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In Middletown, stroll along Cottage Street and Railroad Avenue as you shop for fresh produce, herbs, homemade candles and soaps, flowers, and more.

Root ‘N Roost Farm

This sustainable and green farm has fresh produce, herbs, flowers, eggs, pork, and poultry! In the summer, you can take a farm tour, Friday – Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5p.m. or visit the farm stand on the weekends, Friday – Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Their summer season typically starts mid-May.
